Our planned open days took place on 14th, 15th and 16th of October. If you were unable to attend one of these, please contact the school office on 01254 249462 and we will aim to provide a convenient time for you to come and meet us.

Applying for admission to our Reception class
Applications to Reception are made online at https://www.blackburn.gov.uk/schools-and-education/school-admissions/admissions between September and January of the year prior to your child starting school. The closing date is 15th January 2025.

How likely am I to get a place at St Gabriel’s School?
We are a high achieving school with an excellent reputation. This makes us very popular. However, the national trend of falling birth rates is leading to greater place availability. Across the whole of Blackburn, more parents are obtaining their first choice of primary school – we are no exception!
What is our admission criteria?
Our Admission Arrangements show how places are allocated, the 2025 document will show how many children were offered places in 2024 under each criteria. The majority were offered places under the ‘distance’ category.
Who needs to complete the supplementary faith information form?
The supplementary form is an extra form only for parents applying under the Christian faith criteria. All other applicants only need to apply online via the link above.
Admission at other times throughout the year
In-year admissions are administered by the Local Authority.
For classes that are at capacity, we hold waiting lists. If you would like your child’s name added to this list please complete and return the Record for Parental Interest for Admission form and the In-year admissions form. These records are moved up by year group annually. Please note: Names on the list are ranked in accordance with the original admissions arrangements for the relevant year group and not in date order of forms received.
