Safer Internet Day is organised by the UK Safer Internet Centre to promote the safe and responsible use of online technology and mobile phones for children and young people. Safer Internet Day 2016 is on Tuesday 9th February 2016, with the theme ‘Play your part for a better internet’, offering the opportunity to focus on both the creative and positive things that children and young people are doing online, as well as the role that we all play in helping to create a safer online world.
The UK Safer Internet Centre is a partnership of three leading charitable organisations: Childnet International, the South West Grid for Learning (SWGfL) and the Internet Watch Foundation (IWF). These organisations are committed to working to make a safer and better internet. The UK Safer Internet Centre is online at www.saferinternet.org.uk.
Throughout the week all classes in school will be discussing aspects of ‘keeping safe’ online. We encourage you to take the opportunity this week to talk about E-Safety at home. Advice and guidance is available on our website to help you support your child’s/children’s safe use of online technology and mobile phones.
