We are a Church of England School, under the Diocese of Blackburn and have close links with our namesake church – St Gabriel’s. Our Governing Body includes six Foundation Governors who are appointed by the St Gabriel’s Church Parish Council and the Diocese, this is in addition to the Vicar.

As a Church school, the Christian faith and the Gospel teachings of Jesus Christ underpin all aspects of school life, shaping our distinctive caring and pastoral character. Whole school worship is led regularly by the Vicar of St Gabriel’s Church or designated church members. This brings the wider church family into contact with our school family.

In addition to the Sunday services at St Gabriel’s Church, ‘Marbles’ – a family centred time of worship and praise, takes place on the second Friday of every month in the church hall. Whilst not only being a great addition to the regular Sunday services, Marbles encourages attendance from those who may be unable to join the church family at other times. Attendance at Marbles is included in the criteria for our school admissions.
